A Different Kind of Sunday: Cantata in the Residence Homes

This update was sent in from Vanina in Madrid....

"A group of children from the Cristo Vive (Christ Lives) Church in Madrid have brightened the day of almost 180 senior citizens in 2 different residence homes in our little town.

You could tell that they had done a lot of work to prepare for this, but now the hard work was over. Yes! They presented a musical that they had prepared for Christmas for their own church and they just made a few changes to adapt it for their mature audience.

Was it worth it? Of course! It was a unique Sunday as much for the elders as for the children. There were smiles on each face, including the faces of the visiting family members and the employees of the residences. Singing in residence homes is not a new idea, we know; but for me it was very special because it´s as if they were my own grandparents since I meet to go walking with some of them week after week.

One of the residents asked for a moment to speak to give thanks in the name of all the residents for having come and he also blessed the children: ´As the Lord said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”´ (Matthew 19:14)

...And this is my ministry each week: to show them that the kingdom of God belongs to them too! Amen!
