A "See You Later" for Ellen

Our collegue, Ellen Quarles, who has been serving at the National Office and in the Barcelona Student Ministry, will be leaving to spend some time in the U.S. Several months ago she asked for prayer for her brother-in-law who is very sick. As a result, her trip mostly has to do with the situation that her sister and brother-in-law are in.

Ellen sent us a few lines to say goodbye and tell us a little bit more about what she and her husband David will be doing during their time in the U.S.:

"Hello!! We´ll be leaving for the U.S. on Janaury 9. The truth is that we are already missing everyone, especially the Barcelona/Vallés team.

Last June we started praying about the possibility of taking a break and going to the U.S. to help my sister with her husband who is ill. In August God made it very clear to us and since then we´ve been in the process of preparing the paperwork and visas to go. Mainly we will be focused on serving my sister Ashley, my brother-in-law Sean and my nephew Timothy.

Sean seems to be getting worse and worse and, day-to-day, his life is becoming more fragile. His main illness is called Lyme´s disease, but things have gotten more complicated and it´s affected his brain and his spinal cord. Thanks to God he´s still alive at home but with lots of help and lots of pain and suffering.

In addition to being available to serve my family, I will be working at the World Headquarters in Orlando. I also hope to make the most of this opportunity to connect with churches in the area and elsewhere in the U.S.

Our hope is to limit our time to just one year or even six months, but we will assess the need as we go and decide every 6 months what the next step will be. Our hearts are in Spain and the sooner we return, the better.

We pray that God will protect Ellen and David and use them during this time. Most of all, we pray that God would touch Sean´s life, in a way that only He can do, supernaturally.
